- Rehabilitation centre for birds of prey
-
-
- Amongst the most significant activities managed by the Natural Reserve there are the faunal areas arranged in the park of the Farnese's former stables and in the guest quarters of the Reserve. These structures are included in the list of the rehabilitation centres for birds of prey.
- Since its establishment, the Natural Reserve has been an important point of reference for those institutions, public (the District Council, the National Corp of Forest Rangers) or private, that rescue injured animals, almost always belonging to rare and endangered species, which live in the area or pass by it in specific periods of the year.
- Until now more than 500 specimen have been rescued, with a success rate verging on 70%.
- At the moment, an experiment is being carried out aiming towards the breeding in captivity of two pairs of goshawk, with a goal to reintroduce them into the territory protected by the Natural Reserve, in order to restrain the excessive expansion of the population of the Corvidae, which at the moment does not have enough natural predators.
